Cheval Three Quays - Abigail Ahern In Residence
We have all swooned over Abigail Ahern's home for a number of years. Even if you are not a hardcore fan of dark interiors, Ahern has created so many interesting corners around her home that we couldn't help but want to copy her style around ours.
From the bookcase wallpapered wall, to the odd-one tall lamps, to the endless texture of carpets and sheepskins. And lets not forget the cacti.
Those who have been fortunate enough to attend one of her masterclasses on colour, seemed to be more interested in taking the tour of her home. And who can blame them. The almost enigmatic inky interiors of the Queen of Dark were unveiled to us commoners and you could not help but fall in love with how she had managed to transform her north London home from ordinary to unique.

The Abigail Ahern style
Known not just for her love of the dark walls, Ahern has over the years developed her own successful homewares business as well as maintained a collaboration with Debenhams, where her velvety lamps and other interiors paraphernalia are sold under the brand name Abigail Ahern Editions. A lot of people I know, myself included absolutely LOVE Ahern's products.
The exciting news are that from January 2017, Abigail Ahern takes the helm as designer in residence at the luxury five-star apartment hotel, Cheval Three Quays, London, following in the footsteps of celebrated designers Matthew Williamson, John Rocha and Ben de Lisi.
This is the final instalment of the exclusive year-long partnership that saw each designer apply their individual creative talent to dress and create a unique ‘Designer at Debenhams’ Apartment.

If you have shopped or looked around her shop (in store and online) over the years, you know that her style is eclectic, and ranges from dark-themed to the very colourful. She is not one afraid to use brightly coloured lamps like an orange gorilla against a 'Bowery Blue' wall.
In her design for Cheval Three Quays she drew inspiration from around the world, transforming a one bedroom apartment into an eclectic retreat in the heart of London with her globally influenced SS17 collection for Debenhams.
The collection is underpinned by spirited animal motifs and tribal patterns set against a backdrop of bold, colourful textures and natural ceramics. Raw and rustic textiles featuring interesting applique details soften the overall look, whilst burnished metallic accessories bring a hint of luxe.
Organic sculptural accessories and statement lighting take centre stage, with oversized botanicals conjuring up the ultimate exotic urban jungle in the middle of the capital.
Abigail’s apartment boasts dramatic floor to ceiling windows with stunning views across the River Thames, Tower Bridge and The Shard. Every detail of the room has been carefully curated by Abigail to seamlessly fuse city living with her personal style.
