How to Pair Pink and Blue in Interiors
Pink and blue became an overnight success thanks to 2016 Pantone's Colour of the Year Combo: Rose Quartz and Serenity. Though we are still conflicted about Serenity (Is it blue? Is it purple?), the combination of the two was powerful and, most of all, optimistic and fun.
As Magda Callery, Founder of Style By Magda, puts it, 'Pairing pink and blue in your interiors creates a perfect blend of warmth and serenity. This combination continues to evoke a sense of optimism and balance in any space.'
This post explores blue and pink as a colour combination, be it on your walls, floors or general styling.
Pairing Pink and Blue in interior decor
Theo-Bert Pot, is a collector, photographer and so much more. He also loves a bit of pink in his home and has used Light Peach Blossom by Little Greene whereas in other places he has used Full Aqua Matt by Flexa (that's Dulux in Sweden for you).

Blue and pink are the main colours in the Stockholm apartment of Amelia Widell, a blogger for Elle Decoration Sweden. Her home appeared as the house of the month in Elle Deco, styled by Saša Antic and photographed by Andrea Papini. The blue walls are painted in Stone Blue by Farrow & Ball and this is the Dahlia 4-seat sofa designed by Amelia herself for Att Pynta.
A hidden gem awaits you in this cloak room with its blue wall and deep pile pink carpet, this is the home of interiors aficionado Sara Margaretah in what should be photos for ELLE DECORATION (in my opinion). The photos were taken by Andres Bergstedt. Photos sourced from real estate agents, ENTRANCE.
English homes are full of style and this living room with its light blue walls that are full of oil painting in guilted frames is deserving a place in this post thanks to the pink accents on the sofas and chairs. For a similar colour try:
Pale Wedgwood (Little Greene) which is also the second colour I used in our dining room. Vervain from Paint by Conran
Wedgewood Blue by Zoffany
Spur by Paint Library
Morning Blue by Mylands of London
Cloudless by Designers Guild
Bonton by Sanderson

This delicious pink wall makes the perfect background for a designer lamp in Copenhagen's permanent gallery/ showroom 'The Apartment'.
Have you come across The Apartment before? It serves as a liaison of 20th century furniture, contemporary art and design, showcased in the elegant setting of a beautifully restored 18th century apartment in Christianshavn, a charming district of the old Copenhagen.

Also from the Apartment is this photo of the living room with its pink wall and blue sofa combo. Red is used as an accent colour in an almost neon hue.
For a similar pink try Calamine or Middleton Pink by Farrow and Ball or Rose Trellis 6 by Dulux.

And of course who can forget this blue and pink room from Dyer Grimes Architects (photo: Jack Hobhouse) with the lush pink velvet headboard against the blue wall? Try Lulworth Blue by Farrow & Ball.
For a lighter pink (almost light peach or nude) and darker blue combination, find inspiration in this city abode designed by Note Studio in Sweden.
And if you love plywood, try Custom Fronts who can update your existing kitchen, especially if it is an IKEA, and paint it to the colour of your choice, including blue of course. All photos below by Note Studio.
Paint Patterns
If you are looking to try something unique, paint geometric patterns on your walls, as expertly shown here by Australian Architects Edwards Moore, who styled these walls for Dulux.
