You’re redoing your room. Cool. There’s nothing more thrilling. Until the dread of living with dust and chaos sets in, that is. You have all this stuff. What are you supposed to do with it?

Okay. Hold your horses. Before you do anything. Make a list. What needs to be boxed up? What can stay? Once you have those answers, we can move on to the storage part.

Wrap Things: Bubble wrap, packing paper, maybe even an old newspaper. Use whatever you can to save those trinkets. Larger stuff something more. Something like padding covers and moving blankets.
Label everything: I can’t say it enough. Label your boxes, you’ll thank me later when you’re not opening every box trying to find your favourite coffee cup.
Pack Smart
When you’re packing, think about what goes where. The heavier stuff at the bottom. The lighter stuff at the top. Think smart. No need to break everything during the move. Take apart the larger stuff. Makes it easy to move. But, don’t lose any parts.
Use Renovation Storage Units
These storage units are great for large furniture and stuff like that. This is like their whole thing. So they have extra security and flexible rental options.
Could you imagine not having to walk through a bunch of boxes if you wanted to go to your kitchen? If you knew you would be able to stay organized and neat during your remodel? Sounds like a little slice of heaven to me.
Keep Essentials Handy
You are going to need a few items throughout the remodel, so it’s a good idea to set aside a little bit of your living space for items that you will need every day. You don’t want to have to dig through boxes to get to your clothes for the day.
So set aside a small section for a few of your favourite outfits, your toiletries, and maybe a dish or two to eat off of.
