"Brands such as Miele, Bosch and Samsung all make appliances and accessories that are designed to reduce your impact on the planet whilst still providing the functionality you need. This Surrey kitchen project delivers sleek, contemporary elegance whilst remaining warm and inviting. A Baufritz house, Kitchens by Holloways designer Barty Rowland-Orme was tasked by the homeowners to create a kitchen that was sympathetic to the open plan, nature-inspired feel of the home.
Designed using Kitchens by Holloways’ Mortimer range of cabinets, the door fronts are constructed using a furniture linoleum applied to a birch ply core, with a recessed exposed ply handle.
Inspired by mid 20th century Scandinavian furniture design, the Mortimer cabinetry complements the clean aesthetic of the property, fusing perfectly with the use of wood, glass and concrete throughout.
The visible edges of the birch ply material, a significant feature of the Mortimer range, add a natural warmth that is wonderfully sympathetic to the kitchen’s surroundings.
